W8 9-Braid Oceanic Forge is a high-performance braided line developed for anglers who demand maximum sensitivity, control, and durability in all conditions.

With an advanced 8+1 construction – where eight tightly woven carriers are wrapped around a central core strand – the line achieves an extremely round and uniform profile with increased strength and minimal stretch. The result is exceptional sensitivity, transmitting every movement from the lure directly to the rod.
Westin has utilized premium Japanese UHMPE (Ultra High Molecular Polyethylene) fibers in the construction of W8 Braid due to their outstanding strength and performance. To further enhance abrasion resistance and overall strength, the line is built using a specialized weaving process known as “Advanced High PIC”.
The dense weave of 36 weaves per inch creates a smooth surface with low friction and high durability. Combined with a tough outer coating, this results in longer casting distance, improved accuracy, and increased resistance against abrasion from rocks, wrecks, and other harsh structures. The tighter weave also contributes to a smoother surface, enabling longer and more precise casts.
Casting performance is further enhanced by Dura-Coating technology, a gel-based process that provides a smoother, hydrophobic surface, reducing water absorption and minimizing friction.
