Daiwa 26 BG SW 6000-H

The next generation BG SW is developed for anglers who demand strength, durability and reliable performance when targeting powerful saltwater species. Built around DAIWA’s Powerdrive Design, the reel combines a rigid full-aluminium body with Oversized Power Digigear. The construction is designed to deliver high winding power, smooth operation and consistent performance even under heavy and repeated loads.

The Powerdrive Rotor, engineered with high structural rigidity, contributes to a stable and direct feel during the retrieve, while the Crank Power Bail is built to handle the loads associated with demanding saltwater fishing. Together, they create a robust platform for situations where both the reel and drivetrain are subjected to high levels of stress.

BG SW also features ATD Tough drag, an LC-ABS SW spool design and improved sealing against water intrusion. The combination is designed to provide smooth, controlled drag performance and dependable operation in demanding marine environments.

Available in sizes 5000 to 8000 for the Scandinavian market, BG SW is particularly well suited to the heavier saltwater fishing commonly found in Norway. These sizes are ideal for targeting species such as cod, halibut and coalfish, as well as other species where high winding power, a stable drag and a robust construction are essential. 26 BG SW combines a solid aluminium construction with Powerdrive Design and components engineered for heavy loads. ATD
The biggest issue with many drag systems is that they are not smooth at the beginning of the drag. ATD is fine tuned to react more quickly, the instant line release is required. This smoother start up eliminates the ‘snatch’ that previously occurred when tension inertia was overcome. ATD also implements structural changes to the spool metal of the reel that provides greater support of the spool across the entire length of the main shaft. This additional support reduces spool twist under load, promotes more even pressure on the drag washers and ultimately reduces “pulsing” of the drag when fighting the fish.
